Updates!

We have been playing and enjoying summer!  After 13 years of living away from family I have realized how much I love being close.  We have been able to go to family reunions, camping trips, Sunday dinners and holiday celebrations together.  The kids have LOVED playing with their cousins.  It's been so good.  Here are some highlights of our summer so far . . . . . . .

Trevor has been working so hard in Karate.  He just finished belt testing and was awarded the best technique award.  This face made the 87 degree indoor heat completely worth it.

Camping with my family was quite the adventure!  We bought a new 12 person tent, 5 new sleeping bags and a new cooler.  We camped at The Spruces, a gorgeous campground up Big Cottonwood Canyon.  The morning and evenings were the best time of day because of aggressive flies that about drove us crazy.  We hiked to Lake Solitude, ate delicious a delicious dutch oven dinner and played games with everyone.

We watched a wildfire from our house.  That was a first for me.

Yummy food with my favorite people at JCW's.

Homemade scones and homemade honey cinnamon butter to celebrate Pioneer Day!

Trevor and Alexis have been jumping on our new trampoline most days.  We have had a slew of near or over 100 degree days lately.  These two throw on their swimsuits, put on the sprinkler and eat Otter Pops to ward off the heat.

Laying in our bonus room upstairs.  Just a little peace and quiet.

Trevor ran upstairs while I was in the bonus room (see picture above), the shade was closed.  He said, "The room is bathed in orange!"  Opened the shade and a beautiful bright orange engulfed the entire room.  The sunsets in Utah from our home are unlike any I have ever seen.
