We're alive and well

We're enjoying our time in Utah. We had our fair share of hiccups during the flight, but I think I'll always dislike traveling by myself with the kids. Thankfully my sister, Meg, will be traveling back to New York with me on Saturday. She'll stay for two weeks while my Mom continues to heal. It sounds like she might be sent home from the rehabilitation hospital this week. Yesterday was her first home visit since the accident three weeks ago. We enjoyed Sunday dinner as a family. It was weird to see her leave her home and head back to the hospital. She just had her neck stitches removed today from a surgery done over two weeks ago. She was later told that they should have been removed before she left the hospital and headed to rehabilitation. It was also discovered that she had another hairline fracture on the backside of her pelvis that was previously missed. The doctor asked her if she has been in incredible pain because she had been putting weight on that side of her body. She told me that it made her feel better that the pain was due to something. My little two year old niece keeps telling my Mom, "You broke your belly?" It just cracks me up. Trevor doesn't seem to notice the neck brace, walker, wheelchair, hospital bed, and grandma who is sitting incredibly still. He cuddles up to her and then squirms acting like a worm, reptile, or insect. My Mom continues to say that she's fine, but I sweat bullets hoping that he's not making her pain worse. Jacob has been leading the cousin pack here. Yesterday he was doing acrobats on the love sac downstairs and wanted me to take a picture of his moves. As he was rolling on the love sac his knee whacked his mouth and he started to bleed. It was traumatic for twenty minutes and then all was well and he went to bed. He tells Wayne and me multiple times that he wants to move back to Utah. Alexis has warmed up to everyone and is having a ball running around with Niki and Ryan. She loves her new baby cousin Ellie and I'm afraid she's going to love her to death. She always wants to hold her and give her a bottle.

I had heard that she got to come to her own house for a visit. Glad that it went well. Hopefully she will be home soon!
